Explore a product idea with AI-simulated reviewers. Examine understanding, usefulness and value before planning your next human research study.
What is AI product concept testing?
AI product concept testing uses simulated reviewers to respond to a product description and structured questions. Manyside lets you define an audience, collect synthetic responses and inspect the individual answers behind an aggregate result.
Use it to decide what to investigate next: whether the proposition is understandable, which benefits deserve closer examination, and what assumptions need a real customer’s input. These responses are exploratory model estimates, not evidence of market demand.
How to set up a useful review
- Describe the product, who it is for and when someone would use it. Include the price and purchase unit if you want to ask about value.
- Choose counties, panel size and audience settings. Review the population inputs and any hypothetical context.
- Choose separate questions for understanding, usefulness and value. Supply any extra details the workspace requests.
- Inspect the answer distributions, missing responses and individual reviewers. Turn a finding into a question for prospective customers.
Worked example: Refill household cleaner
Our published example describes a fictional reusable spray bottle with dissolvable refill tablets: a $14 starter kit and $2 refills. It was evaluated on October 19, 2026 by 120 simulated reviewers, split equally across Alameda, Fresno and Los Angeles counties. This archived research run exceeds the current hosted limit of 100 reviewers.
The recorded synthetic averages were 2.8 out of 3 for understanding, 2.4 out of 4 for usefulness and 2.8 out of 4 for value for money. All 120 reviewers had usable responses for each measure. These are rating indices on different scales, not percentages of buyers.
The useful follow-up is to ask prospective customers whether the refill routine fits their household and what would make it worth the price. The scores alone cannot establish why a person would accept or reject it.

What does a panel add to a chatbot conversation?
A general chatbot can help brainstorm questions or critique a description. Manyside organizes the exercise into a saved audience, a shared question set, structured answers and traceable results. This makes comparisons inspectable; it does not make model responses equivalent to interviews.
Can this validate a product idea?
It can help prepare a validation study. It cannot establish product-market fit, conversion, willingness to pay in real transactions or representative customer preferences. Our historical human benchmarks concern policy survey questions; product-feedback accuracy still needs human evaluation. See what has been evaluated.
